Therapy Approach

“The only thing
constant is change.”

– Heraclitus of Ephesus

Change can be hard. It can also be a period of excitement and rebirth.

There are many different reasons and questions that may prompt each of us to seek therapy. I have dedicated my professional career to help individuals, of all ages, improve their lives in the face of challenges. Adverse life events can be the result of stress and emotional problems due to mental health issues, physical illness, trauma, family circumstances, transitions in employment, education and social stressors.

“The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but having new eyes”.

– Marcel Proust

How one copes through life’s challenges can lay the foundation for the next stage in one’s life. As a psychologist, I seek to provide a healing space for self-discovery and learning with a goal of adopting positive coping strategies.

I aim to create a therapeutic relationship that will help to provide support and guidance through these periods of transition. I view individuals from a holistic perspective and believe that one’s background, including their familial, cultural, socioeconomic and physical aspects play an incremental role in their psychological functioning. Your situation, needs, obstacles and goals are unique to you. Therefore, I will tailor my approach to assist you with meeting your specific goals of treatment. The connection between therapist and client is an important part of the healing process and I encourage a collaborative working relationship. Through therapy, I can help you make positive changes in behavior, thinking and feeling, improve your relationships and better your sense of self. I use an integrative approach to treatment, which I tailor to your individual needs.
